HISTORY/BIO: His childhood in London was relatively normal until one day he changed form unexpectadly. It was the first time Alex had ever shifted, and when he became a duplicate of the house pet cat, his step father--who had never liked Alex or his brother very much--tipped off a local scientist who captured him at the age of 15 and performed experiments on him to see what caused his ability to shift, Alex finally managed to escape four years later. He found himself not only an ocean away from home, but completely alone.
For two years he wandered around Maine in one animal form or another, never once shifting back to his human self, until Astrid prevented him from killing his 'prey' one night. After seeing her shift and realizing he wasn't the only 'freak' in the world, she helped him regain his humanity, but with it came repressed memories of why he had been captured--his step-father, and his mother who idoly stood by and allowed it to happen simply to save her marriage.
Under the guise of a holiday, he returned to London to slaughter his mother and her boyfriend, and then learned that his younger brother was also a shifter.
